How about above it? Or is this where the trail/run starts?

Yeah, I do the same thing. I think it's a by product from my days of BMXing - you want to stay low and get the tires to the ground quickly - so even today some (* ahem *) 20+ years later Cool I still hit jumps the same way; low and quick.

My buddy, however, likes to hit jumps hard Helmet which is one reason why my camera is usually on him than me - I'm boring to film Camera

Anyway, like I've always commented, Danny, you've always had good form in your jumps regardless what kind or how large it is, and your overall riding position is always excellent. Even when you were riding your hard tail. tup

Does it drop into a trail or something?

We have a couple of drops where it's about 4ft but because you're dropping into a incline it adds another 2 - 3ft Smile

Looks like fun a drop!

It doesn't tuck as close to the wheel but it also doesn't stick out as far as the LX that was on there before.

When things got bumpy, it was pretty quiet - unlike my LX which was banging against the bottom of the chainstay. Smile

I've been running just their lower crown for almost a year when I finally decided to just get the entire kit. The integrated stem offers a 45mm and 55mm offset which is nice.

Aaron (the owner) worked with me to sort out a problem I had when I was running the 888's on my Norco frame which is how I came to running just the lowers (he didn't think I needed the entire kit). Really cool guy.

I also shaved close to a pound of weight up front with this kit and the new bars. Riding with the 745mm bars took some getting use to but I like it. Smile

I think I just need to ride more...

Nice! I almost bought those same handlebars but wasn't sure how it was going to look on my bike. Now that I see it on yours I'm sort of regretting not getting them. Frown

Nice pics, looks like a fun place to ride!

moto395- if you're still looking for the fork bumpers, see if your LBS can order them. They're not that exotic of a part. My LBS sells them for about $5.00 (USD) each:

Yes. Specialized was one of the first companies to use a 26/24 combo on their bikes. It never quite caught on but at the same time it hasn't really died either. Smile

I rode a DH bike that had a 26/24 combination and it did well. It felt like I had 26's.

Riding through some really rocky and technical sections was awesome because it didn't feel *clumsy* and I was able to spin the cranks a bit faster and easier to get the bike through the section. On the other hand I did feel a difference when I hit a rock garden at speed - it seemed like a 26 rear would have taken the hits better than the 24 - kinda hard to describe but I did notice and feel it; sort of more *bouncy*.

He was doing good until the landing. He came in too hot and overshot his landing Facepalm He landed pretty much in that large bush to the left. As he landed he tried to turn the bike to the right and the front wheel washed and he also lost his footing on the pedal.

Basically he took a tumble down the trail. Slammed his hip pretty hard. Confused

But yeah, it is a fun place to ride. You can still get a thrill from not hitting any of the jumps and drops.

Sucks about your trials... Cry

This is the top of the ride and as we descended the camera was pointing directly into the sun Cool so it took it a couple of seconds to readjust itself which is why it looks dark like this. Basically an unexpected and unplanned effect. Maybe next time we'll stage a camera down in this section to get a clearer picture.

This is why we need someone like you to photograph our rides Camera

Suggestion: loosen the banjo fitting just enough to where you can rotate the brake line closer to the fork. This gives it a nice (clean) look and less likely to have it snag on anything. Smile

I reposted an earlier pic of my Transition (it's the only one where you can see what I'm referring to): http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/2923911/

The same was also done with the rear.

If you look closely in some of the pictures you can see where I have two (black) nylon ties around the lower leg to help keep the brake line against the fork.

If your frame has ISCG mounts then this should just bolt right on. If not then you will need to get an adapter (I saw a few listed for sale here in PinkBike).

LOL! Yeah, my riding buddy (chris) and I are pretty much done with the climbing. We did XC for about 10 years doing the all day epic rides.

Now days it's nothing but shuttles, chairlifts and gondolas for us now - we've got nothing to prove. Razz
